Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas
I have a verbal contract between myself and a roommate to each pay one-half of the utility bill. My roommate refuses to pay her portion. What legal actions can I take to ensure I receive her payment?

There's an old saying: With a written agreement you have a prayer; with an oral agreement you have nothing but air.
You have learned a lesson about trusting the wrong people.
Your best remedy is to move out, and not take on any roommates again.
