''attorney responsibility''

I currently have a case of arbatration against merrill lynch

my attorney does't return my calls-court dates were set early last year-didn't happen.when i finally spoke with him

he said he drop the ball-would get it going again-still

no communication or return phone calls.what do i do? or can you help?

Lack of communication from an attorney is the number one complaint from clients. Some just don't get it, however.

You should consider discharging this attorney and retaining another who will stay in communication with you. You are entitled to that, and it is an ethical requirement for the attorney.

You may also complain to your local bar association - they are charged with the responsibility of policing lawyers and their relationships to clients.

Bottom line, don't put up with it - get a second opinion.
