Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Texas
Excessive force/
My brother was in a shoot out last week, in the news it stated that he walked into a convenience store and asked em to get a cop. When they arrived he asked everybody to leave, discussed with them that he had problems and the like.,news say that he had it planned.,he paced outside the store then shot to the ground. When he shot.,the police opened fire on him.We had been told they fired 9 shots hitting 4 times. 2 days later we were told 32 to 37 shots were in him. Before the autopsy was finised ,it was ruled
suicide, this means no insurance for his family. We are now told that they are trying to prove that he was trying to kill a cop,,and he had fired at a cop. And they had to bring him down. No reports had ever shown this, from the beginning. We are told that we need to find an out of town lawyer to have anykind of chance. This just doesn't seem right 1 cop fired 10 rounds at him Please advise

Re: Excessive force/
It sounds like what is called "police-assisted suicide." It seems that he planned to have the police shoot him, and they did. I do not see excessive force under these circumstances. I am sorry for your loss.
