Ask to talk to the manger or the owner of the dealership immediately. You should have received the title when you took possession of the bike. There is no excuse that you have waited 2 months if you have paid for the bike or made payment arrangements.

I don't know if there are any free websites on the internet that can search your bike's VIN number and tell you who the bike is currently registered to because something sounds very strange.

I would be worried because if you are stopped, you might be in possession of a stolen bike. I would be afraid to drive this bike.

In fact, over 35 yrs. ago a friend of mine had a title to a bike that he purchased in cash from a Pasadena fireman and he did not check his VIN numbers carefully and it turned out that the VIN number was "altered" somehow and he got stopped and arrested for being in possession of a motorcycle with a "forged" VIN number . Eventually he got out of jail and the charges were dropped (after spending $5,000 on a lawyer) but he never could get the bike back because the VIN was "altered" in someway and the police refused to release the bike back to him because he could not prove the title was valid. It was an expensive experience about titles & VIN numbers.

I would contact the Department of Motor Vehicles immediately. Find how what you do about a dealer that won't give you a title?

I wish I could be more helpful but this type of problem does not occur often & attorneys rarely get involved in this sort of problem because they is no money in it.

Please don't call me because I don't litigate any more. Plus, it's not worth my time and money to handle this sort of case. You need an attorney that loves motorcycles. I can't think of anyone right now.
