Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Texas
Videotaped Depositions
Is it legal/ethical to supply a videotaped deposition to the media for public viewing even before the case goes to trial? This assumes that no release has been signed by the deponent.

Re: Videotaped Depositions
Most depositions are public information and their release to the media is not legally prohibited. If images are commercially exploited, meaning they are sold, different considerations apply. News is OK; commercial exploitation without permission is not.
