Generally, the doctor cannot provide treatment without a patient's consent unless it is a medical emergency and the patient is unable to consent (e.g., patient is unconscious). Also, as the patient, you have the right to terminate treatment at anytime. You need to ask the doctor why he believes 5 weeks of radiation treatment is medically necessary so you can make an informed decision on whether to continue this course of treatment. Good luck.
