Legal Question in Military Law in Texas
Contract with the Army
I'm dating someone who is in the Army Reserves, he recently recieved orders, but was scheduled to be released from the Reserves next month. He had read something about a new rule that stated if the platoon he is with did not leave the United States within 90 days after he release date then he could get out, can you tell me anything about this? Also, is the Army breaking a contract with him by forcing him to stay an extra year, and can anything be done about it?

Re: Contract with the Army
Your boyfriend's task is simple. He must follow the orders of those appointed over him. He must fulfill the obligation he undertook when he raised his right hand and enlisted. His country needs him, and he must answer its call. There is no legal alternative.
Best of luck to you and him.
