divorce question

i have been married for 8 years and my husband has been in the army for 12 years. if we divorce will i still get some of his retirement pay. also will my daughter who is special needs still be covered under tricare?

Your daughter will continue to be a family member (dependent) entitled to Tricare so long as your husband continues in service. As far as your potential claim to his future military retirement, the short answer is you may have a future claim based on the 8 years you have been married to him and supported him. However, the state wherein you seek the divorce may have specific rules governing the division, if any, of spouses' future retirement benefits. A seasoned family law attorney in your state should be able to provide insight.
