Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas
I am 46 years old, I live in my parents home, and I am on medical disability due to a medical condition that causes occasional seizures. I have been told by my physician not to drive for six months after a seizure. My question is- Are my parents (whose home I live in ) legally liable in any way for any type of injury to a person or property caused by me due an accident caused by me having a seizure while driving? In other words, could they be sued because I potentially drove before six months and injured someone? Are they liable in any way since I live with them? They are concerned for themselves due to me living in their home and may have 'warned me not to drive'. The question is the same for driving before the 6 month seizure-free time period and after the six month period.

Your auto insurance should cover any such lawsuit..but your parents are not responsible for any actions you may take...just as one is not responsible for a minor driving recklessly...but unless you are excluded from the auto policy..it would cover..As to other non vehicle accidents, same answer..but homeowners insurance should cover..Finally..anyone can sue for anything..but not collect nor get a judgment..as no real legal liability
