Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

I was in an auto accident; not my fault; car had to be towed. Other drivers insurance company wants me to release the car to them. This was my family's only mode of transportation, and there has been no mention of what they are willing to pay for the vehicle. It was "a total loss".

Does this sound right?

If you leave it in storage where it is, then the insurance company will not continue to pay for the storage. If you release it to them, then they will assume the cost of storage. Remember, it is your car until you surrender the title. You will just be letting them move and store it.
