Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas
I was in car accident. In Fort Worth, Texas, no injuries occured. We exchanged inusrance information at the same time I called the police. The polic officer just verfied that both our driver's liscense and insurance were valid. He said that we did not need a apolice report becuase there were no injuries.
Now I called th other driver's insurance company and they sent an adjuster to look at my car. The Other drivers's insurance agent has been unable to contact the person. Mean while , I am without a vechile.
Is it true what the officer said No police report required?
If the other guys insurance cannot get a hold of him to confirm accident, what should I do next?

sad experience..insurers are NOT concerned about claims against their insured..unless a lawsuit is filed..if ur property damage is less than $10,000 you could sue in JP court..but why isn't your own insurance paying or don't you have full coverage...good luck
The Texas Transportation Code requires a report if an officer investigates an accident and there is injury or death to a person or property damage apparently $1,000 or more.
If you have collision coverage, turn it in to your insurer if the other guy's insurance does not respond. Otherwise, you may have to file a lawsuit if it takes too long. Probably best to do it yourself in small claims court.
If the other driver doesn't cooperate with his insurance company, then they'll deny the claim. If you have full coverage, call and make a claim against your own policy. Then your own insurance will fix your car, put you in a rental and pursue the other driver (that's why full coverage costs so much more.)
If you have liability only, then you can file suit against the other driver and prepare for a fight.
