Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

I had a car accident 5/1/2004 was hit by a drunk driver, at the time in 04 her insurance paid me 20k for my injuries, to this day i am still injured, have sustainable injuries. My attorney was still working on my uninsured/underinsured side to cover the rest, and they just made an offer today and I am not satisfied, it is very minimal for the injuries and treatments i still need. my attorney said he cant do anything else thats all they want to offer and if i want he can give me my file back...what are my options?

If you aren't satisfied and feel that your UIM claim isn't enough, then you should talk to your attorney and tell them. If they are willing to give your file back and let you shop it around, you should if you think it's worth more than what's on the table. If you would like to discuss the merits of your case, I would be happy to discuss that with you.

Most personal injury attorneys will meet with you about your case for free without obligation. If you really think the offer is too low, and the attorney doesn't think the case will garner more at verdict, then ask around for a few other opinions. If you can find another attorney to case the case to verdict, then you know what to do.
