Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

i just crashed my friends car..i didnt have permision from the mom to drive the car but she gave me the car...she is under the insurance...now her mom is trying to sue me for driving the car and telling me that i have to call the insurance and say that it was my fault , cuz that what she said to the insurance company, she wants me to lie about it...so can she do anything to me?..can she get a penalty for lying?..

Do not lie. False claim/insurance fraud criminal penalties if you do.

Tell her you will call the insurance company in front of witnesses and that you will tell them the truth. Then call them and talk to the adjuster.

You are a second permitee, it sounds like and the insurance company may have to pay the claim, even though you are not covered, if the car was negligently entrusted to you (i. e. you have a bad driving record).
