Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

cruel punishment

my son was injured in school while doing lunges across the cafeteria as a form of punishment by the coach who let him do it for 1 hour, he could not do them so he was slaming his knee caps on the cement, he admited to have done it as a form of punishment, he had to go to the hospital and to an orthopedic doctor, and will have an m.r.i done to see the extent of his injuries now, is the school liable for this?

Re: cruel punishment

If the school is a private institution, then you might be able to show it is liable. A public school, however, is largely immune to injury claims under Texas law. You might be able to make some sort of claim under federal law. Due to the complexities of your case, you should consider consulting with a lawyer.
