Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

dog attack

My cat was killed in my front yard by a dog yesterday. We went to the owner told her. She did have her dog taken away, but I want her to pay for another cat through the an adoption program. Can I purchase a new cat and send her the bill and expect her to pay for it legally.

I don't think the courts are going to want to get involved in dog and cat fights.
