You have a claim under the Texas Tort Claims Act b/c Houston is a government entity.
Suing cities is different than suing businesses or individuals or insurance companies.
You need to contact a personal injury lawyer ASAP. You must follow doctor's orders re: your injuries.
You are required to give written notice of your claim to City of Houston within 90 days from date of accident or your claim is waived. Notice is sent to City Secretary.
Notice must include when, where, and how injury occurred, extent of injuries, your address on date of accident and address for 6 months before the accident, and names of any eyewitnesses.
