Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

Foreigner with a claim question

I'm visiting from Germany and I had an accident. Is it possible for me to sue somebody without a social security number? What do I need to hire a lawyer?

Re: Foreigner with a claim question

One doesn't need SS# for access to court...we handle many undocumented persons.....so call any lawyer who handles accidents..as our firm does..

Re: Foreigner with a claim question

You should call a lawyer in the locale of the accident. You don't need a social security number to file a claim (or a lawsuit for that matter.) Most, if not all, injury firms will give you an initial consultation for free. Accordingly, I suggest you interview a few attorneys to see which one you like working with the best.

Additionally, most firms will not charge you a fee unless and until they collect for you. Feel free to call me if you wish to discuss this further.

You should hire a board certified personal injury lawyer. I have represented a number of foreign clients. Please let me know if I can help.
