Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

Good Morning,

I was trying to get some advice. On 3/23/10, my son was injured at school resulting in memory loss/concussion. This particular day was a test day and after the kids finished their test, they were taken to the gym. Well my son and other kids were playing football, which turned out that they were playing tackle football and not the coaches/teacher that were to be supervising stopped them from playing. Well my son as the schools employees told me was FOUND in the gym and from there taken to the nurse. After I was notified of what was going on, I entered the school to find that no one had any answers for me, as to what happened to my son. It wasn't until a student entered the nurses office & told us what happened did we know what was wrong with him. On the following day, the nurse told me the principal was investigating and questioning the coaches to see what they saw. It turns out that they saw nothing. I received my sons ER bill, which I tried to submit it to the district and now they are telling me they are protected by law from accepting liability and paying this invoice. I have much more information but would like to know what kind of legal action I can take. We parents send out children to school, which is suppose to be a save haven and they are suppose to be supervised but it's evident that there was lack of supervision, which resulted in this accident, that was preventable.

Unfortunately, schools are protected by government immunity and cannot be sued for these types of injuries.
