Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

health and safety

I work in a school that is quite old, built in the 1930's, anyway, we have a rat problem. I have worked her for over two years now and the problem persists. I have large amounts of rat droppings all over my room, the desks, the chairs, behind the shelves and mostly in the airconditioning system...My question, our superintendent, principal, janitorial dept. and all other critical dept. are aware of this problem...nothing is being done. Well, maybe a trap or two here and there but nothing is working. Several of my co-workers have recently contacted breast cancer. So, if this continues, that wer must work in this envoronment, and are becoming ill with certain cancers, flu-like symptoms, nausea, vomitting, ...the list goes on and on...is there anything we can do about it? The authority figures do not want us to ''talk'' about it or tell the parents of the children either????

Re: health and safety

One problem with this is that you're going up against the school system which enjoys great immunities in the eyes of the law. At the very best, it might be able to shut down this school and recover damages for all injured persons. But each person will have to prove that their injuries are due to the unsanitary conditions. Not easy, but not impossible. If you want my help with this matter, contact me by email.
