Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

It is a four lane street with a turning lane in the middle and there are no designated areas to cross the street so in order to do so you have to cross the first two lanes and wait in the middle turning lane until the other side is clear and then cross those two lanes. That is what I was trying to do, I stopped in the middle to wait and I lookedboth ways to make sure that the turning lane was clear and it was. I was about to cross the street so I looked to my right again and it was clear but when i turned to look to my left an eighteen wheeler was about 20ft away from me driving in the turning lane with no signal light and it hit me!! Next thing I knew I was lying on the ground and i couldnt move my arm and I couldnt get up. I screamed for help and people came from a restaraunt across the street and called the ambulance and my fiance for me. A police officer came and told me that he would come to the hospital and take my statement but he never came and I was in there for 3 days, he also told my fiance that he would give the driver a drug and alcohol test but according to the police report he never did that either! He only took the drivers account and never came to ask me what happened and I havent heard from him since, ive even gone to the police station and left my number for him to contact me so that we could talk about what happened but that was on Nov. 30 of 09 and still no one has contacted me!! I need legal help and I dont know what to do !!

I'm sorry to hear about what happened to you. You will need to get the police report number and a copy of the report. Then you can ask the officer to amend it to include your side of the story. I would strongly recommend your contacting an attorney to assist you with this. Most (myself included) will give you a free initial consultation. Call me if you want to discuss this in detail.
