Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas
Libel? What do we do?
We have an ex contract employee who charged extra money to our customers and pocketed it, and damaged some customers property. We deducted the cost of the damage repair, and the amount of the money he took, from his last pay from us. That left him with almost nothing. Now he is using the sight that we advertise on to write lies about us. In some of his postings, he admits he worked for us, but lies about what happened and tells people not to use our company. In other ads he says he is a customer that we treated badly and goes on to say our company is a joke. He lies about our experience and insurance, saying we don't have any. He's making everything up. We know it is him claiming to be the customer because of the issues he writes about and some of the phrases he uses. We tried to ignore it thinking he would stop but it's getting worse. We are getting very little new business, and we have had cancellations, that said they were cancelling because of the ads. What can we do? We are a small company and don't have enough money to pay high attorney fees. Help!

Don't have enough money to pay high attorneys fees? But I guess you can afford getting little new business and cancellations. Why don't you sit down with an attorney and explain this situation and see what it would cost. Maybe it would be cheaper just to go out of business.

Talk to a local lawyer..or ask Justice of the Peace to give you damages..and if he stole..report to police/district attorney..
