Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

Libel Lawsuit

I am an Investigator and received a case where the victim stated he didn't know a credit card had been opened in his name. I contacted the suspect and she provided me with e-mails showing they had discussed payments on this credit card when she and the victim lived together. I requested a subpoena to authenticate the emails because my case hinged on it. The victim has written letters to my District Attorney, a DA in another county, my Sheriff and I think the AG's Office stating I am friend's with the suspect and she and I ''run around'' together. He is trying to ruin my reputation. Would I have a case?
