Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

mother seeks pain/suffering recovery from sons accident

How do I seek mental and physical, financial recovery due to me? Pain and suffering from my sons accident last May '98 He was electrocuted and lost both of his legs below the knee (amputated). I know it is in Travis County (Austin,Texas)Courthouse. Due to lack of communication of my ex; I have not been approached as to what I have suffered or how financially it has set me back. Do I need to hire my own lawyer to discuss the matter or, do I wait and appeal his final settlement? The amount doesn't even come close to what I feel my son could possibly live on for the rest of his life. He says there has been no mention of medical/hospital benefits or his education. He is only a young man and he is just starting his life. Thank you for your time and consideration. Please reply asap I feel like time is running out.

Run. Do not walk. RUN to an attys office. I do not

understand all the facts you've stated, however if

there is not a lawsuit with you as a party filed by

May, 2000 (2 years after the exact date of the accident)

you may not be able to recover anything ever. Do not

wait until some settlement occurs. You may not be able

to do anything (I cannot tell from your facts) but I can

tell that you need to talk to an attorney IMMEDIATELY!!

There are too many facts left out of your question. However, you need to consult with an attorney immediately. Do not hesitate!
