Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

Property rights after divorce

My ex-wife received the house and land in a divorce (I was ready to get out - she has no education and our daughter needed a place to live). She immediatly moved her now husband into ''our'' house. She was given 2 years to get the house out of my name (it's in both of our names). In May, it will be 2 years. I've been informed (since neither has a job), that they cannot get the house in either of their names due to lack of money to refinance and bad credit. How can I get my name off of the property? Can I get the property back? They are using me and my perfect credit. This is a Texas divorce. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am not your atty and do not represent you. This is not to be taken as legal advice since I don't know all the specific facts of your case. Hopefully the decree further said after two years if not taken out of your name the house would be sold. You can go to court for further orders, enforcement orders, clarification orders, I can think of several options. Only way to get credit back is to have the house sold knowing the limited facts or your case. If you want a consult I charge $150 for 1 1/2 hours. Good luck.

Another alternative is to file a partition action to have the house sold and the proceeds divided. You undoubtedly will need an attorney to file the partition action for you.
