Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas
We just purchased a 2011 car from a dealership. A week or so later it was in their servive garage because they forgot to do the inspection. While there they were putting another car down on a lift and hit our car and put a large dent in the rear side panel. It is now in their body shop being fixed, but what about the diminished value of the vehicle? What can we do?

The dealership is responsible for all damages that it caused. I assume they gave you a loaner car while it was being repaired. If you got a new part, there may not be any diminution in value. If you have a repaired part, it may affect your value. It should pay or do something for you (Car detail?) to make amends for the inconvenience caused you.
