Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

Slander

In Texas, the man that abused my daughter pled guilty to assaulting a child.Would it be slander if I were to report that to the local Police department and to the paper.

Part of the definition of slander is that the statement must be false. If you make a truthful report, then you are not slandering anyone. There may be other grounds for a suit against you (if, for example, you are tring to harrass him.) Whether there would be any merit to such a case would depend upon the facts, but there is a risk.
