You have a claim against the corporate entity that owns Tom Thumb, as well as the employer of the stocker, if he or she worked for an outside company. The hand is a very delicate part of the body and you may want to see a hand specialist to determine whether the injury to your hand is more significant than the "sprain" diagnosed by the general practitioner. With regard to the question of "what can they do for me," they can pay you a fair amount in settlement of your personal injury claims against the store and the employer. Yes, mistakes happen, but people and corporations need to be held responsible for their mistakes. In addition to your current medical bills, you may be entitled to damages for future medical expenses, disability, loss of income, disfigurement and physical pain/mental anguish. The store probably told you they had a $5,000 med pay policy, but if your wrist is seriously injured, your claim is worth more than that. Sincerely, Carl Weinkauf
