Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas
The weekend after Thanksgiving my daughter and I were on our way back from vacation and had a accident. The weather was cold, rainy and icy apparentely. We skidded off the road and hit the side of a rock hillside and flippedd a couple of times, but landed up right and were able to walk away. Needless to say the car was totaled. I received a citation in the mail for unsafe driving. The trooper was called to the scene, he was not at the scene. Do I have to pay this citation? I'm told if I plead guilty I can take a drivers safety course. I don't want to plead guilty because I was not driving unsafe. I was driving very cautiously, about 30 miles under the allowed speed. What are my options? I don't want to take the drivers safety course but I will. If I opt to go to court I have to pay $300.00 and drive 500 plus miles to go to court, NOT. Please HELP. I live in Dallas, TX 75241 the court is located in Fort Davis, TX 79734 about 50 miles from the accident.

You may want to repost this in the criminal defense board. On this board, we can assist you with the property damage claim, and you and your daughter's injury claims.
