Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

My wife was in a car accident in 2013 where it was deemed her fault, she is being sued by the other party for Carpal tunnel surgery now in 2015 .. my wife is a home maker an is on dependent H4 visa here in the US. She doesn't really have any property or assets here and is dependent on me.

My question is how much will be the liability on me as her husband to pay up in case the amount requested by the plantiff goes over the maximum insured amount (after insurance pays up) ??

Please help ..

As your wife, she has a 1/2 interest in community property. You should have no liability, but her interest in the community property estate that exceeds the amount protected by law is subject to seizure
