Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

In 2001, I purchased a small piece of property at a county court house in van zandt county Texas. When I bought this property I was not told and did not sign anything stating that it had a home owners association dues with it . I have not paid any of these dues . I talked with the county back in 2002 to see what would happen if I did not pay the taxes. I was told that it would go into foreclosre and would be taken back and sold. Up until now (it's been7years) they have just thearted with law suits through a collection agency. I am not trying to avoid the taxes it's just 300+dollars for the past 7 years. If i pay the taxes can the association put a lien against the property for past payments? Thank you Coye Moore

They already have a lien through the HOA Declaration. More dangerious is that they can also foreclose.
