Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

In the 50's my greatgrandfather passed away. My great grandmother was still alive. He did not have a will. He had children with his current wife and childred with an x wife. My great grandmother later deeded my grandfather a piece of their land. Was this legal without the consent of the children.

Your great-grandmother doesn't need anybody's permission to give away (or sell) something that belongs to her.

On the other hand, she can't give away (or sell) something that does NOT belong to her.

We don't really have enough information to comment on your situation, since we don't know anything about (a) the ownership of the "land" that was the subject of the deed nor (b) who survived your great-grandfather after he died.
