Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

About 13yrs ago, my mothers boyfriend purchased a house for her. She paid him back, but before they could have the title transferred, he passed. My mother has continued to live in the property and pay the taxes on the home every year since. He has 3 children..only one was made overseer of all his properties by default. She has since neglected all properties, failed to pay taxes and they have been taken by the city. Only one that has went untouched is my mothers home. She won't respond to any correspondence from my mother nor the city. The exboyfriend has 2 other children who names aren't on the property, however they feel my mother should have it especially since she has been responsible for it. Is there anything that can be done.....Lost and confused.

There are a few options. Probably the most cost effective one would be to have the two children agree to deed their interests in the property to your mother. After that, mother could file a lawsuit to adversely possess the remaining interest in the property.
