abtract judgemnet
does an abstract judgement ever expire? And is the party to whom the judgment is against liable for payment if they were never served papers stating that there was to be a hearing?

Typically, an abstract is valid for ten years from the date of issuance, unless renewed. Typically, the person is responsible for the judgment, however, there may be a defense if there was no notice. The defenses have to be timely raised.
