Add name to home deed
I purchased my home in 1981, and it is in my name only. I SIMPLY WANT TO ADD MY HUSBAND'S NAME to the deed. I sincerely hope you can help me. THANK YOU!!!

If the house is financed, then the financial institution will need to give you written permission to add the spouse to the deed. (It's very simple to obtain, you can usually get this with a phone call.) Once you get that, you can transfer half ownership using a special warranty deed, properly worded. Please note this will only give him an ownership interest, not an obligation to pay the bank. You can have a title company or lawyer do this for you for a small fee.
