Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas
What should I do?
I need advice. Can I break my lease? I have not had a working air conditioner in two of the three summer months. The maintenence has repeatedly tried to fix the problem, but it is not fixed. I have written and sent a complaint by registered mail, and have turned in many complaints to the office. It is 90 degrees in my apartment, and the office will not put me in a model or a motel. Do I have the right to break my lease contract?

Re: What should I do?
Yes. The failure of the landlord to provide basic utility services constitutes a "constructive eviction."
