I am losing my job, so my son and I purchased a home together so he can help me however I am under an apartment lease. Is it true if you buy a home an apartment can not keep you to the lease you signed?

Re: apartment lease

No, it is not true. A lease is a binding contract and, unless you made a special provision to break the lease in the event of home purchase, you are bound. Sometimes landlords will work with you if they don't lose any money upon re-letting - check with them.
