Apartment Property Liability

My apartment complex was had hired a landscape comp. to do some mulching. The company letf mulch in the road ways of the complex. Most covered over one lane in the driving area. One was placed on a dark corner. I did not see it as came around the corner and hit it causeing $500 damage to my car. The claim was denied by landscapers insurance. I am taking to small claims court. would like case study on similar claim. Have photos and witnesses saying the same thing almost happend to them. Mulch was not marked in anyway.
