Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

Assumption of a mortgage

If both my name and my ex-husband's name are on a mortgage that I took over after a divorce as stated in the divorce decree, and through a quick claim deed, if I chose to not do an assumption to remove his name from the mortgage, is there anything leagally he can do to the mortgage or to the house?

You have a court order clarifying that you took over the house and mortgage. You don't get to simply choose to not comply with a court order.
