Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas
I just bought a duplex the beginning of November, with a tenant. The tenants lease ends the end of this month and I do not plan on renewing it or even having a tenant. How can I go about this to get them out of the duplex?

First, go talk to him. Ask him what his plans are. Tell him what YOUR plans are, and ask him how you can make the transition easy for him. Ask him if he paid a deposit to your predecessor.
If that doesn't work, write him a letter telling him that you don't plan to renew his lease, and ask him politely to find another place to live.
If that doesn't work, go down to your local Justice of the Peace and file a forcible entry and detainer action.
