Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

I want to buy a lot, from a lady whos hubsand is decesed, she claims there was a lien put on the property about 5 years ago by a credit card company in the amount of 15,000.00. The lot is only valued at 1340.00 Is there a way I can buy this lot and not be responsible for the lien. I live in Texas.

check county records..unless creditor obtained a judgment..no lien..but if a lien..u must negotiate with creditor...
