Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas
Change of mineral right ownership
I bought a house and the title company said that it came with mineral rights. I did some research and found who the land is leased to but when I called them, they gave me a number to a recording the at told me to send the proper documents to an address, but they didn't tell me what those documents are. I can't seem to get any help from them. The mineral right information is not listed in any paperwork from the title company. What do I do now?

Re: Change of mineral right ownership
Title insurance does not show current mineral ownership. It will only tell you if minerals were severed in the past. You should contact a "Landman" (a term of art not related to gender) to researches mineral ownership to determine current status.
