Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas
Change Property Deed after Death
My brother-in-died in 1991. His name is still on the deed although it is not on the tax bill. What form do I need to make my sister the only owner of her condo? Do I need a lawyer or a title company to officially change the deed?

Re: Change Property Deed after Death
Your sister can file an affidavit of heirship since I assume there was no probate. The affidavit, coupled with the existing deed, will provide the appropriate chain in the title.
