Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

Change Name on Property Deed

I am an executor for an estate. The heirs are trying to sell a piece of property. The property is paid for. What steps need to be taken, if any to change the property over into the heirs name?

Re: Change Name on Property Deed

You're not real clear on the facts, So I''l just take a stab at it. If there was a valid will, you need to take that to probate court, have it proved up, and have letters issued. sou then use these letters to draft a deed from the estate to your siblings. If there is no will, then there are other procedures available, but they tend to be fact-specific.
