I own a condo and association taking over patio.
I own a condo and now the association is passing a law that now I have to pay rent on my storage unit. It is under my patio and has all my things in it. I was under the impression it was mine when sold and I have the key. I control the breaker for electic and have paid taxes for the area for 5 yrs. Not specific in deed, they say that it is general property because not all units have storage such as this. Isn't there a squaters right or some litigation on my behalf. All owner with storage units are very upset because now association is charging us and saying it is theirs.

You need to read your condo documents. If the storage units belong to the "common elements" and if you (or your predecessors in interest) had continuously occupied the storage units for over 10 years, you could argue that you have "adversely possessed" the units. Best of luck.
