Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

The couple that bought my house want me to pay them 500.00 because they said the house wasn't clean enough and they had to haul off a couple of things. The contract has been signed and they have been living there for 2 weeks. Is this legal? They say that if I don't pay them that they will take me to small claims court. I've offered them 250.00 but they say that isn't enough.

Don't give them any money. The contract you have with them is in writing, and is signed, and it defines who owes money and when it has to be paid. Does the written contract say anything about the house not being clean enough, or things being hauled off?

Tell these folks NO. Don't even offer to pay them $250.00. They're trying to rip you off.
