Deadbeat boyfriend/emotionally abusive

My boyfriend is a deadbeat that is emotionally abusive. I was the primary on the lease and him the secondary because he does not make any money, he is a college student like me. He is emotionally abusive and have tried to get him to move without having to pay any rent but he is persistent. Can i legally make him leave?

This isn't a real estate question, but there is a solution. Go to the police department and get a restraining order. That will keep him away from you.
