Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

no deposit returned

I gave a $935.00 deposit on a rental house 4 years ago, with no intrest, I moved out on 8/25/98

gave the keys to her dad, (he said i would get all my deposit back, after going through the whole house. now It is 9/30/98, 30 days later,and they say we are broke they have never sent me a explanation of why or when they will give me my deposit back. I learned that they sold the house on contract. what can I do

Texas Property Code gives you definite rights to get your deposit back. You can go to small claims court to force return, or hire a lawyer to do it for you.
