Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

mom and stepdad are about to go through divorce. right now the property and house is divided 3 ways. grandmother ,mom and stepdad. grandmother is original owner. in order to renovate and recieve loan after living there 10 years rent/tax free mom and stepdad asked to be put on deed. grandmother agreed because she also lives there and is being cared for by daughter. does this sound like a legal deed or is this going to be a difficult legal issue over the property that is very valuable.

It depends on how greedy step-dad is. I am afraid he has the upper hand on this one - the deed is probably legal.
