Duplex Purchase
I am interested in purchasing two duplexes with 3 other partners. We would like to own the units individually and put in a pool/hot tub that we would own jointly.
Would the best way to set this up be a Condo Regime that would be formed prior to closing? This way each one of the investors could get their own mortgage on one of the units.
We will also need windstorm and flood insurance because the duplexes on on a barrier island along the Texas coast. Port Aransas to be exact. Would it be best for the condo association to get the windstorm and flood insurnace and each investor to get thier own content insurance?

There are a number of different ways to set this up. You should check with the lending institution, as many will have their own specific requirements for insurance requirements.
