Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

Easement for electricity

We have purchased land in a rural area of Texas. We have been waiting for a neighbor to grant an easement for the power company to provide power to our land. (the power company must cross her land to get to ours) This has been in limbo for approximately 6 months. Is there anything we can do to force the issue?

Re: Easement for electricity

Unless it was a condition of sale, I am afraid you are at her mercy. You have a right of access for you to personally reach your property, but there is no statutory right to utilities. I would be very nice to your neighbor and prod her along.
